Posted by on Apr 9, 2021 in News & Events | 0 comments

NUMBER ATTENDING:  The number permitted to attend Mass and any other activity /service in the Church is determined by the 2 square metre rule.  There is no need to pre-book for our regular weekend Masses.   Note that country churches remain closed. CHECK-IN ON ARRIVAL:  It is still necessary to “check-in” as you arrive at Mass – you may scan the unique QR code on your smartphone or one of our hospitality team will take your name and contact details on our Mass Attendance Sheet. FACE MASKS:  Face masks are still encouraged for all attendees at Mass and social distancing continues. SINGING:  Congregational Singing is now permitted. HOLY COMMUNION: please observe social distancing when coming forward for communion and communion is to be received BY HAND only. The dispensation from Sunday obligation continues until further notice. If you are feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend Mass. Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who stay behind after each Mass, activity and/or church service to help us with the cleaning.  Your assistance is very much appreciated. Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate our way through the ever-changing rules and restrictions that we all currently live with. Any queries or concerns please contact Mary-Ann in the Parish...

In light of the new restrictions announced on Wednesday 31 March by the NSW Government for the Northern Rivers area,  and the latest memo from Bishop Greg this afternoon, masks will be mandatory for everyone over 12 years old at Mass and all Easter ceremonies this weekend. Please ensure you bring your own mask as we cannot guarantee we will have spare ones available.  We will have to revert to the 4 square metre rule over the Easter weekend, which means that we are again limited in the numbers able to attend at any one time – a maximum of 120 at each of the Triduum ceremonies and Masses. Our bookings are now FULL for the Easter Triduum ceremonies and for 8 am Mass on Easter Sunday.  There are still some seats available for 10 am Mass on Sunday. Please call if you have not yet booked for Mass. Please ensure you arrive early to Mass to allow for check-in and observe social distancing. And sadly, singing has been prohibited over Easter. It is disappointing to have these restrictions imposed for Holy Week and Easter but we hope that you will still join in this special time of prayer as a parish faith...
