It is with sadness that I announce that due to the Corona Virus we are no longer able to hold any Masses or public Sacraments for the foreseeable future.<\/span> With time we will learn what is permitted and what is not. \u00a0I\u2019ll inform you as soon as I reliably can. This means no further week day or Sunday Masses at all<\/span>.<\/p>\n Funerals can only be held at the graveside and only with immediate family members.\u00a0 This too may be restricted.<\/p>\n Baptisms and Weddings will, at this stage, not go ahead.<\/p>\n The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Viaticum will be offered as long as I am permitted to do so by the authorities.<\/p>\n So, what happens if you can\u2019t access a priest in time of need, such as imminent death or serious illness?<\/i>\u00a0 Pope Francis advises us that God\u2019s love for us is perfect and without condition, as Scripture says God will not abandon us in our hour of need.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cWhere the individual faithful find themselves in the painful impossibility of receiving sacramental absolution, it should be remembered that perfect contrition, coming from the love of God, beloved above all things, expressed by a sincere request for forgiveness (that which the penitent is at present able to express) and accompanied by votum confessionis, that is, by the firm resolution to have recourse, as soon as possible, to sacramental confession, obtains forgiveness of sins, even mortal ones (cf. CCC, no. 1452).\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Code of Canon Law<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/i>Lastly, we will do our very best to stay in touch with you, via phone, letterbox or electronically.
